Our rates are the same, we do not markup water taxi rates. You get the same great rates as if you went direct to the water taxi.
If you needing transportation to and from Seward we can also include Alaska railroad, train and bus transportation to and from Seward in your trip package.

Bear Glacier Sea Kayaking - Non-Guided And Guided Trips

If you are want to sea kayak near a glacier and icebergs Bear Glacier is the closest sea kayaking destination from Seward. A sea kayaking experience at Bear Glacier is the most amazing, photogenic, and unique Alaska sea kayaking experience available near Seward. We recommend a 2 to 3 night stay to fully experience what Bear Glacier has to offer. A maze of giant Bear Glacier icebergs awaits your arrival.
Take a minute to look at our Bear Glacier Photo Album and just imagine how amazing it would be seeing this awesome place in person. Bear Glacier is a special place for outdoor photography. The icebergs are the largest in Kenai Fjords National Park and the wildlife in this remote area includes black bears, mountain goats, coyotes, wolverines and harbor seals that come into the lake for protection from the Orca whales. For birders, this area is the nesting area for a variety of birds.
Bear Glacier is the largest glacier located in Kenai Fjords National Park in a large lake separated from the Pacific Ocean by a narrow glacier moraine and is 30 roadless miles south of Seward on the west side of Resurrection Bay. In the lake Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat is located on a island In the lake right on the border of Kenai Fjord National Park.
Besides sea kayaking there are a number of hiking destination available. There are glacier moraines to explore or you can hike up to one of the numerous waterfalls in the area. If you're real adventurous there is a valley and mountain ridges that have yet to be explored.
Affordable Options
Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat has affordable options for both private sea kayakers wanting to do their own thing, and for those that are looking for a fully guided sea kayak adventure.
Private Sea Kayaker
For the private sea kayaker we offer both water taxi and helicopter transportation to Bear Glacier. You can bring your own sea kayak, canoe, or packraft, or we have sea kayak rentals available. There are numerous great camping locations around the lake and if do not have camping gear we also rent camping gear. Or if you want something a little more comfortable than sleeping on the ground, we offer hostel style lodging at Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat which includes the use of dishes, utensils and stove, all available in the covered kitchen and dinning area.
Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat can also provide sea kayaking instruction if needed.
Guided Sea Kayaking Tour Packages
A fully guided sea kayaking option is also available. Bear Glacier Wilderness Retreat offers a multi-day all-inclusive tour package that includes transportation to Bear Glacier, lodging, meals and guided sea kayaking with one of our naturalist guides. A 1-day guided sea kayaking trip is also available.
